Peterbilt Delivers Model 520EVs to Republic Services’ Anaheim Fleet

Denton, TX, July 27, 2023 — Peterbilt is pleased to announce the delivery of its zero emissions Model 520EV to Republic Services, the first electric collection vehicle in the company’s California fleet as well as the first in Orange County. The automated side-loader truck will provide recycling and waste collection services for the City of Santa Ana, CA.

The 520EV is designed for commercial and residential applications and provides Republic Services with a quiet and environmentally friendly vehicle that supports the company’s goal to achieve a 35% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030. It can complete a full day’s collection route on a single charge and utilizes regenerative braking during each stop to transfer energy back into its battery packs, resulting in extended operating range.
